Results from the 2002 "NEWS HERALD" Cleveland June Slamma Jamma tournament!!

The 2002 "News Herald" Cleveland, OH June Slamma Jamma Basketball Tournament was held on Saturday, June 8th, 2002 at Lakeland Community College's tennis courts.  A total of 15 teams competed in 3 divisions - Adult Men's, Co-Ed and Youth.  We would like to thank the News Herald newspaper for their generous sponsorship of this event. 

The Adult Men's division was won by 8th Floor of Columbus, OH.  They defeated Teddy Dupay I of Cleveland, OH (41-40) in the championship game.  Men's MVP was Jeff Urban (Guard) of 8th Floor. 8th Floor made the trip from Columbus one to remember as they won the championship with a put back slam dunk at the buzzer!

The Adult Co-Ed division was won by News Herald Advertising of Mentor, OH.  They defeated Dream Team of Cleveland, OH (56-40) in the if needed championship game!  Co-Ed MVP was Joe Zdesar (Forward) of News Herald Advertising.  The Co-Ed Champion, News Herald Advertising, is a team made up of writers from the News Herald newspaper advertising division.

The Youth division was won by Suburban Streetballers of Mentor, OH.  They defeated Lady Jaguars of Cleveland, OH (39-32)  in the Championship game. Youth MVP was Brian Kramer (Guard) of Suburban Streetballers. The Youth Champion, Suburban Streetballers, is made up of the Freshmen basketball team of Lake Catholic High School.
